Michael Jackson Dies

Unless you have been hiding under a rock and have not seen any news stories, you have all heard of the untimely death of Michael Jackson. The minute I heard the news I said to myself, “Prescription Drug Death.” As the news has unfolded this appears to be exactly what has happened.

As tragic as a death of a 50 year old is, it highlights the growing problem of our cultural dependence on prescription medications. No one ever says “I want to become dependant on prescription drugs.” This beast comes on slowly and overtakes even the most cautious of people. In the US, we consume more than half of the world’s medications! Of the 4.6 trillion spent on medical care, we spend over 2.1 trillion in this country alone. And according to the World Health Organization we are far from the healthiest nation in the developed world.

We as a society need to develop an appreciation for the God given healing abilities we already have. Chiropractic is based upon these abilities and only works to remove interference (subluxation) from the nervous system that is preventing the body from functioning at its highest potential. How many more talented young people must be lost before we realize that better health does not come through creative internal chemistry?

If one good thing can come out of the death of Michael Jackson, it is my hope that more people will begin to wake up and take a serious look at the prescriptions they are pouring down their throats. If Michael would have been under regular Chiropractic care, would this have happened?

Keeping It Simple

Chiropractic is simple in its concept and yet technical in its application. The human body is a self healing organism. It knows how to maintain health, IF there is no interference. This key point is “NO INTERFERENCE”. Subluxations cause interference to the nervous system and therefore the control of the human body. Chiropractors deliver specific scientific chiropractic adjustments designed to correct subluxations and release the body’s innate ability to be healthy. The application of chiropractic requires much work, time, and an exact scientific application, but the simplicity of the principle behind it, is the beauty of it.

A Book I Recommend for all Chiropractic Patients, and Those Considering Chiropractic

I Stand Amazed, a book by Geri Carlson, is a compelling story of faith and enlightenment. Geri’s story speaks to the experience of all those who have a deep faith and ask “why” when confronted with life’s challenge. Our faith tells us that our prayers are answered, yet it is our trust in a limited understanding that prevents us from hearing the true answer to our prayers.

Geri’s story clearly shows that the principles of health are not devoid of faith. She brings the reader into her darkest hour and allows them to follow her sorrow and then her enlightenment and healing. If you have been suffering from ANY health issue, or if you just want to learn and experience real health, you need to read this book and feel this story. If you enter with an open mind, you will leave with a full heart.

Chiropractic works by removing interference from the amazing God given healing ability. Remove the idea of God, and there is no life and no healing. Chiropractic, as with all true healing, also happens to be scientifically sound. Science is not in conflict with faith. When it seems to be, question your science, not your faith.
